LUCY WELSH

Lucy Welsh is a fine artist working primarily in charcoal drawing. Her practice focuses on monochrome landscapes as a way of exploring human emotion, memory and connection. Her landscapes are not specific places, but spaces shaped by memory, distance and feeling. Through mark making, erasure and shifts in tone, Lucy aims to suggest emotion rather than describe it directly. These drawings are not intended to document places as they appear, but to reflect how they are felt.

Lucy is a Wirral based artist who gained her BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art at the University of Gloucestershire. After completing a PGCE she spent 18 years teaching art in secondary education.
