My mixed media painting is based on traditional Chinese ink landscape techniques, applying some new elements in order to present and relate them to contemporary painting. Part of my process is to “read” traditional Chinese art. I’m using mythological narratives to describe western perspective methods, to construct the sense of space and three dimensional objects. It’s a landscape and myth that combine traditional aesthetics with surrealist and other modern and postmodern approaches. I have been selected for exhibitions of the Wirral Open Studio Tour since 2017, Oxton Art Fair 2014 and the Bluecoat art competition 2012.
