Alla Barkova

ALLA BARKOVA

Alla Barkova was born on Sakhalin Island. She studied design at the Moscow Textile University and worked as a fashion designer in Moscow knitwear factories.

Today, she lives in Oxton and is a member of the Wirral Society of Arts. Nature is her main source of inspiration. In the past she created knitted patterns based on sketches of trees- but now she tries to find unusual real trees and explore their beauty on paper.

The main source of each of her paintings is personal observations of nature. She draws using a graphic technique and finds the process of drawing completely relaxing. The materials she uses are very simple: a black gel pen and paper.
