Rachel Mary Wright is an artist, researcher and writer.
She first fell in love with colour and texture, with the magical effects available when both are chosen justly, enhancing and supporting one another. Then she became aware that those things together could speak of greater – or at least, other – things.
She began to paint in order to support her embroidery designs, and then found herself falling in love with paint as well.
She has recently published a book, “Dreams of Amarna – Stitching an Egyptological Adventure”, which describes the experience of developing an artist’s eye and learning to tell stories in stitch.
