Artist’s statement

Formerly an art teacher in Liverpool secondary schools, I have been a professional illustrator since 1988, originally as a greeting card artist for the Medici Society, Book Tokens Ltd and Hanson White.

Since 1990 I have been a fiction illustrator for women’s magazines including The People’s Friend, My Weekly, Woman’s Realm and The Lady as well as several publications in Scandinavia. I continue to work regularly for the People’s Friend and in my spare time undertake wildlife commissions in pastel and coloured pencil.

Aside from illustration my big interest is lino printing, covering a range of topics from landscape to portraiture.
