Artist’s statement

My paintings are largely inspired by music and poetry and reflect a rather mysterious perception of the world and of life: the compositions often do not have static focal points, which I feel helps to transmit the dynamics and melodies associated with the stories behind the art. I use pastels and water-soluble oil paints to translate the memories and feelings with a minimal usage of media. Being a scientist, I see the arts as another way to explore the light and harmony in nature and ourselves, and to communicate the best aspects of what was learned in this process.
