Artist’s Statement

Lyn Rodgers started painting in 2011 when she retired from a lengthy and demanding NHS career.

She studied art at school, but was never able to develop her skills until she had the time to devote to painting.

She has worked with watercolour, acrylic ink and paints and in the last year has been experimenting with collage and mixed media. Landscapes, flowers and photographs of her travels inspire her work. She enjoys using different techniques and continues to learn by attending a weekly art class.

Her new challenge for this year was to sketch and paint plein air, being watched by many holiday makers, on the lovely island of Menorca.

Lyn is a member of a number of local art societies and exhibits regularly. She is a committee member of two societies and the exhibition organiser for one.
