Artist’s Statement

David is a fine artist painting people and places – portraits and landscape in oil and acrylic paints.

Born on the Wirral peninsula you will see that many of his landscape works are influenced by the coast and countryside. He has thrown paint around many local vistas.

Frequently lifted by the ability of art to promote reaction, to inspire and, on occasion, unearth deep emotion he is keen to leave something in his art that will achieve engagement.

David often likes to apply texture, leave brushstrokes or use other effects to add value and give a sense of energy to his work as well as providing the viewer something else to interpret. On other occasions he will mix realistic images with abstract elements for an enhanced effect.
