Ann Blake is a member of 5 art societies, Wirral Society of Arts, Deeside Art Group, Heswall Artist’s Association, Grosvenor Art Society and Irby Art Association. I always give a helping hand to all societies. Advertising is the key word.
I’ve always enjoyed other people’s works of art which helps me to be inspired and want to create. Picking subjects that appeal to me, portraits, animals, flowers, landscape, abstract, to put my personal touch. Working with my own photographs or my imagination. My main medium is acrylic but I do dabble in watercolour, oil and pastel. I am always learning. When I see new paints, brushes etc, for me it’s like going into a sweet shop. Going to art classes is a must as you learn and get to see different techniques, besides you meet lovely people with the same interest.
I help to organise an exhibition once a year, for a week usually in March called “Take 5” We have been exhibiting for 6 years now. I’m privileged to exhibit with great local talent and with other exhibitions.
“Take 5” takes place upstairs in Heswall Library, it’s a very light room and airy, the Library also provides a lift if you don’t want to use the stairs. Scenes also provided to hang art work.
Art is another way to express ourselves and I will always be learning.
