Artist’s statement
Artwork title: The Mimosa Tea Garden
I have always been very interested in painting, what I call ‘UP CLOSE’ Zooming in on a subject and capturing not only the essential detail but also the movement, texture, vibrant colour and subtle tones. My work is figurative and I use most mediums. However my two favourites are ‘Oil on Canvas’ and ‘Watercolour’ The subject matter is not important to me. However creating a strong feeling of light and atmosphere is.
